A performance based on writings
from the Empire State College Community
October 24, 2012
7 p.m., New York State Military Museum,
61 Lake Ave., Saratoga Springs, N.Y.
Free and open to the public
The idea for this performance came about through the SUNY Empire State College course, War Stories: Reading and Writing About the Impact of War, where the participants read, wrote and shared stories and thoughts about war. To encourage wider participation in thinking about this important and complex topic, the collaborators of "War Stories" invited Empire State College students, staff and faculty to submit their war stories, in writing. They then crafted a 75-minute performance piece featuring the voices of men and women in the military, as well as those on the homefront, who have been profoundly touched by war.
We hope you will join us for this very personal and powerful look at how war affects us.
The performance will be followed by a panel discussion on the new Military Transition Online Resource Center, funded by the ACE/Wal-Mart Foundation and hosted by Empire State College.
